Quest Coaches Shaping Future of Basketball BC PDF Print E-mail

August 7th, 2013 – Men’s Basketball

Squamish, BC - The typical outcome for graduates of the Basketball BC provincial team program includes a variety of scholarships in the NCAA, CIS, CCAA and sometimes, a career in the NBA.  While only a few of these elite ballers will end up in the PACWEST division at Quest, there is a huge Kermode influence in this year’s boys’ coaching staff.  No less than four current or former coaches are involved in the province’s top program, including Men’s Head Coach Sean Shook (U17), Assistant Cassidy Kannemeyer (U16), former assistant Jon Acob (U17) and former women’s coach, Todd Jordan (U17).

The program runs throughout the summer months at various showcase events, culminating in August at the U17 level with Canada Summer Games, currently taking place in Sherbrooke, Quebec.  The value of having university calibre coaching staff in preparation for the Olympic style event is paramount and the position comes with its own set of unique challenges.
