PankratzNew Westminster, B.C. – After dropping a 58-111 exhibition game to NCAA DII Western Washington University on Monday (Game Story), the Quest Men continued to struggle on the offensive end, dropping a BCCAA League contest to Douglas College 65-82.

After getting out to a 16-10 lead the Kermodes gave 10 straight points to trail 16-20 at the end of the first.  Royals guard Kevin Jackel hit a 3 at the buzzer to extend the lead to 45-32 at the half.

“We got off to a good start, but once again we seem to take a step back.” Commented Quest head coach Sean Shook.  “We have to learn to play 40 minutes.  Until we do we will continue to struggle against quality league opponents.  Coach Cheung did a great job having his guy prepared for us, and we didn’t make the in game adjustments needed to take advantage.”

Douglas came out of the break and quickly extended there lead, scoring the first seven points of the third quarter.  The Kermodes cut the lead to 13 in the middle of the fourth, but a missed three by Quest and a Hamid Aziz three at the other end all but put the game away for the Royals.

Quest, who was missing leading scorer and rebounder Jesse Norris (Mt View/Vancouver, WA) out with a foot injury, were led in scoring for a second straight game by John Pankratz (Brookswood/Langley, B.C.) with 13 points.  Sam Jeanes (Sutherland/North Vancouver, B.C.) chipped in with 12 points and 5 rebounds and fellow post player Joel Wollenberg (Walnut Grove/Langley, B.C.) added 9 points and 6 rebounds.  The Royals had 4 players score in double figures led by Drew Slaght with 23.
