| Froberg And Behrns Named BCCAA Athlete Of The Week |

November 25, 2009 Squamish, B.C. – Two Quest basketball players were awarded the BCCAA Athlete of the Week awards today. Bryce Froberg (Meridian/Bellingham, WA) and Delainee Behrns (Balgonie Greenall/Regina, SK) were named after their performances in the teams 2 game sweep of the Langara College Falcons. Froberg, who is from Meridian High School in Bellingham, Washington came to Quest three years ago and has developed into a leader. He was a starter for every game last year and ended up in the Top 10 in Assists and Rebounds. This past weekend, Quest hosted the Langara College Falcons. It was their first ever weekend sweep in BCCAA League play since joining. Froberg lead the Kermodes both evenings as he tallied 18 points on Friday and 18 points on Saturday night. In Friday’s 58-57 win, Froberg had the game winning FT, which was one of the 9 points he scored in the fourth quarter. He also finished with 9 Rebounds and 5 assists. On Saturday he hit the game winner with 2.8 seconds to go on a jumper to cap off his weekend. He chipped in with another 9 rebounds against the Falcons on Saturday. Behrns came to Quest University from the outskirts of Regina, SK where she played basketball for Balgonie Grenall High School and helped lead them to the 4A Regina city championship. She was also a 4A all-star in the Regina high school league. This 1st yr, 5’4” BCCAA guard had very good weekend against Langara College and was instrumental in helping her team secure two hard fought wins. On Friday, Behrns led all Quest scorers with 18 points, including a 9/9 performance from the free throw line. On Saturday she came out with another strong performance, this time contributing in different ways. Behrns finished the game with 6 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. She also made a critical free throw that put the Kermodes ahead by a point in the dying seconds of the game to give Next up for the Kermodes is a grueling road trip to Prince George to play the UNBC Timberwolves, November 28th and 29th, 2009. |
