January 8, 2010 - Men's Basketball

Tyson ComptonSquamish, B.C. - Quest came out strong, scoring the first 12 points to begin the game, with John Pankratz (Brookswood/Langley, B.C.) scoring the Kermodes first 8 points. At the end of the opening quarter, Quest held a 11 point lead.  Northwest Indian College shot well behind the three point line in the first half, sinking 7, but the Kermodes still led 43-34 at the half.

Coach Sean Shook was pleased with how his team played. "Starting off the game by scoring the first 12 points is always good. There was lots of energy from the guys coming off the bench, especially Mukiya Post (Oak Bay/Victoria, B.C.) and Tyson Compton (Walnut Grove/LAngley, B.C.). We spent almost the entire week of practice working on defense and this showed in today's game."

Pankratz led the Kermodes with 16 points and Post added 15 points. Bryce Froberg (Meridian/Bellingham, WA) had 11 assists and Sam Jeanes (Sutherland/North Vancouver B.C.) led Quest in rebounds with 8.

Up next for the Kermodes are league games in Victoria against Camosun on January 22nd and 23rd.
