Squamish, B.C. - The Quest Men’s team stepped up this weekend in their games against Thompson Rivers University and UBC Okanagan, allowing only one goal over the two game, getting some outstanding saves by keeper Lucas Menz (Handsworth/North Vancouver B.C.). The Men took on TRU Saturday afternoon, and fell to a 1-0 loss against the Wolfpack. TRU is currently ranked 2nd in the league with two wins and two draws. On Sunday, UBCO Heat was up at the Q. The Kermodes fought hard and ended the game in a 0-0 draw. Despite having one player advantage for the majority of the game after a red card was given to the Heat, the Kermodes were still unable to put the ball in the back of the net. Striker Mauwena Mallet (Vancouver) closed in on a couple of close chances up front, while defender Kyle Logan (Okanagan Mission/Kelowna B.C.) played an outstanding two games over the weekend. UBCO currently sits one spot ahead of Quest in 6th place. Next weekend the Quest Men travel to Prince George to take on the UNBC Timberwolves. The Timberwolves are ranked 1st in the league, losing their first game 1-0 to Douglas College last weekend. The Timberwolves also played Kwantlen this past Sunday, defeating them 3-0. |
