The Quest Men’s soccer team went up against the Capilano University Blues and Langara College Falcons this weekend away in Vancouver. On Saturday, after an early goal by Kermode striker Maweuna Mallet (Van Tech/Vancouver B.C.), Quest played even with the Blues and led the game for 70 minutes. Unfortunately, the men couldn’t hold onto the lead until the end and allowing two quick goals in the last 20 minutes to lose 2-1 to the 2006 National Campions. Capilano is currently ranked 1st in their pool, with 14 points. On Sunday, the Kermodes took on the Langara Falcons. Mallet again scored the lone goal for the Kermodes, while the Falcons responded with a goal of their own. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, placing the Kermodes in 3rd place in their pool with 4 points. Next weekend the men will be back in the Lower Mainland to play Kwantlen and Douglas College. Douglas beat Kwantlen 8-0 last weekend, and sit 3rd in their pool with 12 points. |
