Their triumphs have included wins in two tightly fought games against Langara College, a 21 point victory over Douglas College, and a 13 point win over Capilano University. Their lone defeat came at the hands of a very strong team from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), with a score of 52 to 86. By all accounts SAIT should be ranked in the top 5 nationally. Head Coach Todd Jordan is happy with his team’s progress, but is not yet ready to make any predictions. “I’m happy with the way we’ve started out but it’s obvious that we still have a lot of work to do. We’ve been doing a fairly good job on the defensive end but offensively we have a long way to go to cut down our turnovers and give ourselves more scoring opportunities. The pre-season games have been giving us an indication of some of the areas we need to work on and that’s what we’ve been doing. The girls are working extremely hard so I’m hoping we will continue to improve at the rate we have been.” The Quest Women are back in action on Saturday Oct. 17th when they host the Kwantlen Eagles in a scrimmage game at noon. |
