Although the Women’s soccer team suffered an unfortunate, and disappointing 3-2 loss against the Douglas College Royals Saturday, the team held their heads high. Sunday was not only the last home game of the season, but it was more importantly the final home game for the following graduating fourth year students: Samadhi Bouchard, Baylee Wilkinson, Brittany Shalagan, Lindsay Kay Epp, and Shannon Nordling.

Nationally Ranked PDF Print E-mail

Quebec, 2011 - The third week of the Canadian College Athletics Association Women's soccer national rankings came out on Tuesday.  Sitting at #15 in the country Quest University Women's soccer holds the distiction of being the first ever team from Quest University to be nationally ranked.  Currently sitting in first place in the PacWest Athletics Association with 4 wins, 0 Losses, 0 Ties the nationally ranked Kermodes have a chance to improve upon the #15 spot this week as they take on #5 Ranked Langara in a home and home tilt this weekend.  For more information on the CCAA national rankings consult the CCAA women's soccer national rankings website at http://www.ccaa.ca/web/index.php/en/wscrankings.

Squamish, BC -  Again the Quest University women's soccer team stepped out on the pitch to do battle in 2011 and again they set a new team mark for goals.  After an offensive explosion on the road last week that saw the Kermodes win 4-0 the women set a new program high finding the back of the net 7 times on the evening.  Again Tiana Gilchrist pitched a shutout in the Kermode goal as the team built a 3-0 mark at half and 7-0 for the game.  Krigi Marti and Mari Tarleton each scored a pair in the win, with Ami Massey and Tanner Batchelor adding singles, with UNBC putting one in its own net. The win  vaults the Kermodes into first place in the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PacWest) standings, with a record of 2-0 and a goal differential of +11.

Prince George, BC - A clean sheet by Tiana Gilcrist and an offensive explosion like none seen before propelled the Kermodes to a 4-0 drubbing of the UNBC Timberwolves.  Krigi Marti, Mari Tarleton, Tanner Batchelor and Jamey Wessels scored for the Kermodes.  With the win the women hold a 1-0 record and sit atop the newly named Pacific Western Athletics Association standings.  The Kermodes will next take to the pitch on Saturday Sept 17th against when they host the UNBC Timberwolves at Quest Field.

cforsbergSquamish, B.C. - Quest Women's Soccer captain and 3rd year player, Chelsey Forsberg (Kelowna Christian/Kelowna, B.C.) was named as the BCCAA Soccer Female Athlete of the Week.  In her final two league games at Quest University, Forsberg contributed to the two most important wins of the program’s history with 180 minutes of intelligent, committed soccer.
