October 27, 2010 - Women's Soccer Squamish, B.C. - Quest Women's Soccer captain and 3rd year player, Chelsey Forsberg (Kelowna Christian/Kelowna, B.C.) was named as the BCCAA Soccer Female Athlete of the Week. In her final two league games at Quest University, Forsberg contributed to the two most important wins of the program’s history with 180 minutes of intelligent, committed soccer.
On Saturday, Quest travelled to Vancouver to take on Langara. Quest would win their first ever game versus the Falcons with a 2-1 decision. Forsberg switched positions to combine astute defensive abilities with a quick counter-attack thus helping her team secure the victory. On Sunday, the Blues came knocking and hoping for the last berth into the Provincial Championships. Capilano would be denied as the Kermodes stunned the Blues with a 2-0 victory to tie the Blues in league points, but by virtue of the league tie-breaking rules, would qualify for the Championships while the Blues stayed at home. Forsberg added to her season goal tally in Sunday’s win versus Capilano with a stunning left-footed strike from 25 yards, just over the keeper and under the crossbar. |
