Squamish, BC - October 22, 2011
Although the Women’s soccer team suffered an unfortunate, and disappointing 3-2 loss against the Douglas College Royals Saturday, the team held their heads high. Sunday was not only the last home game of the season, but it was more importantly the final home game for the following graduating fourth year students: Samadhi Bouchard, Baylee Wilkinson, Brittany Shalagan, Lindsay Kay Epp, and Shannon Nordling. Over the past four years these 5 players have been the backbone of what is now Quest University Women's soccer. Even through the growing pains, these ladies stuck by and persevered to reach the top of the PACWEST standings. As the first Quest athletics team to be ranked nationally, many would say they’ve done that and a whole lot more. The Women’s Soccer Kermodes have really become a family this year and the graduation of these five stellar individuals will be a great loss to the program. With each other in mind, the women’s Quest Kermodes soccer team played against the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Eagles. The Kermodes played with a tremendous amount of heart during this their last home game of the season. Playing for each other the team fought back from a goal down almost the entire game but could not find the equalizer as they fell to the visiting Eagles 1-0. |
